Zaterdag 4 oktober | Altius D1 - BFC D2, uitslag : 0-0
Great start, the sun is shining and Hans buys the coffees. Pitch looks good and big, very big! Antoon stretches and bends, as lineman the pitch looks big to him as well.
We kick off with a clever play down the centre between Felix and Yannick, nice touch from both of them. Altius come back strong down the right. The winger crosses into the centre of the box and ball bounces nicely for the Altius no 9, he shoots hard but not hard enough. Good shot but great save, Yosi parries the ball and Nick clears the danger.
The game is quite balanced then on 6 minutes, there´s a good break through the centre by Felix but the linesman had lost his glasses for a moment and called him offside.
Altius come back strongly and force a corner on the right. Luckily for us, Jesse has grown even more this week and rises above everyone to clear with a powerful header but its another corner. This time Nick stands even taller and heads the ball to safety.
Game is played in the centre of field for next few minutes, then Niels and Daniel break fast down the left and Niels takes it on but is bundled into touch. Thijs is now taking control of the centre of the pitch, looks like he didn´t have any breakfast, he´s biting the legs of anyone who comes near him.
Its 14 minutes, BFC starting to look dangerous, good interplay between Jannick and Skye and we´re moving forward again. Juus plays it on and Thijs takes it down the wing and crosses into centre just outside the penalty box, Daniel controls the ball, bounces it on his kneee, lifts his head and volleys over everyone , beats the defenders, beats the keeper but the crossbar beats him. So close.
Altius come back again. There´s another good save from Yosi and Jesse, looking strong clears up in the centre. Now Nick starts to really control the game at the back so all is quiet until half time which is good because there´s no written notes now because Edwina´s fingers were too frozen to write.
The second half starts with both teams balanced again. Then Nick passes long to the front where Felix shoots well but good save from Altius keeper. BFC looking good and Petra is jumping up and down, its either the good football or she´s very cold..
Then another burst forward, Thijs to Felix, Felix turns it back to Thijs… it’s a nice one-two, you wouldn´t see anything better from ´Mike Tyson´.
Then, a foul by Altius, and it’s a free kick for BFC, Nick lines up for goal but Nick has been watching too much rugby and blasts over.
Again BFC come forward, Daniel picks up and sends Joeri free. He races down left but keeper was quicker than Usain Bolt and he clears the danger.
This time Altius hits back and it’s another corner for them, Nick clears…again. Game is played in the centre and Thomas is playing harder but he oversteps the mark a bit and takes an Altius player from behind so he gets a ´red card´ for 5 minutes. However, we all thought is was just that Thomas wanted a rest after all the running he had been doing!
Altius come back again, another break down the left but Nick comes across for a great sliding tackle. Still another corner for Altius this time it comes in, it bobs around and then hits the post. Petra shouts with relief, we all decide she´s banned from drinking coffee before the game.
BFC start to push forward, Felix and Thijs are involved in everything. Skye plays a good ball through to Joeri but he´s bundled over. Its our free kick in sight of the Altius goal, it has to be Nick.
Nick lines up the target, smashes the ball…. straight into the highest tree. No more monkey business though as Altius push forward, great tackle by Niels and yet another corner and again cleared easily.
And the game´s over, 0 – 0. It was a good game, lots of good football, Nick was man of the match and now Petra can relax until next week!!
